Liturgy & Worship

The Online Book of Common Prayer: online rendition of the 1979 BCP (current TEC version).

The Book of Common Prayer section of SAJ: full or partial reproductions, in several formats and many languages, of just about every version of the BCP you can think of.

Commentary on the American Prayer Book: the definitive commentary on the 1979 BCP by Marion J. Hatchett.

Existing Liturgies in the Episcopal Church: PDFs of all official and currently-approved liturgies of TEC, including Enriching Our Worship, Lesser Feasts and Fasts, and the Book of Occasional Services. From the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music.

The Anglican Service Book: the entire 1979 BCP rendered in Rite I language, with some fun bonus material at the end. Published 1991, here rendered as PDFs.

The Hymnal 1982: Service Music: official musical settings for the principal services in the BCP (1979), including the Daily Office.

The Anglican Chant Psalter: the 1979 BCP Psalter set to various Anglican chants. Published 1987, here rendered as a PDF.

The Daily Office Chanted: a podcast that produces chanted renditions of Morning and Evening Prayer (1979 BCP) every day.

The St. Helena Psalter: an alternative rendition of the 1979 BCP Psalter which minimizes masculine language for God and changes most psalms to directly address God. From the Order of St. Helena.

The Inclusive Psalter: YPT's rendition of the 1979 BCP psalter in fully gender-neutral language.

The New Coverdale Psalter: The Myles Coverdale translation of the Psalter from 1535 was present in every English and American Book of Common Prayer until the 1979 BCP, whose Psalter is based on the Coverdale Psalter but significantly modified. The New Coverdale Psalter, first published 2019, is for those who prefer a contemporary-English Psalter that more strictly adheres to Coverdale's original language.

The Wycliffe Bible 1382 (download): The first translation of the entire Bible into English, produced by John Wycliffe.

The Tyndale Bible 1526/1535 (download): The first translation of the Bible into English from the Greek and Hebrew sources. William Tyndale produced the NT, Pentateuch, and a couple other OT books; the rest were added later by Myles Coverdale.

The Great Bible 1539: The first authorized translation of the Bible into English, produced by Myles Coverdale (drawing from the Tyndale Bible) under Henry VIII and Thomas Cromwell.

Anglican Prayer Beads, a.k.a. the Anglican Rosary, are a unique form of prayer beads. Here are some guides on using them from King of Peace, St. Alban's Wickenburg, and Anglican Fellowship of Prayer (Canada).

Informational & Educational

An Episcopal Dictionary of the Church: TEC's handy glossary covering most Episcopalian and Anglican lingo.

The Books of Homilies narrated: The complete First and Second Books of Homilies as codified in Article XXXV of the 39 Articles, with each homily of each book narrated as a YouTube video by Alastair Roberts.

All Things Necessary: a YouTube channel that posts serious, in-depth discussions of Episcopalian/Anglican topics from a perspective of inclusive orthodoxy. Often has guests.

Martin's Ecclesiastical Heraldry: incredible collection of arms, seals, logos, etc. of many different Christian bodies. Links to the Anglican section.

News Services & Journals

Anglican Communion News Service: what it says on the tin.

Episcopal News Service: news and classifieds for TEC.

Documents

N.B. most of the PDFs are fairly large.

The Daily Office: A Beginner's Guide: a recreated version of a now-lost PDF from the unfortunately-now-defunct Society of St. Nicholas Ferrar.

Morning Prayer Rite II: A Plainsong Rendition

An Order of Service for Noonday: A Sung Rendition

Evening Prayer Rite II: A Plainsong Rendition

An Order for Compline: A Sung Rendition

Eucharistic Prayer C: Rite I (because the Anglican Service Book was too much of a coward to include the Spaceman Prayer)

The Rule of St. Jeremy Taylor: a Rule of Life written by the Anglican divine St. Jeremy Taylor, which he developed from his great work The Rules and Exercises of Holy Living. This Rule is notably intended for the average person, not monastics.
